Another Record Figure For Real Radio Scotland

Real Radio continues to be the success story of the decade in Scottish radio, attracting more listeners than ever before according to industry research released today (Thursday 10th May). A record 766,000 adults now tune into the station every week, equating to 29% of the adult population within the central belt of Scotland. 
 
Year on year showcases the phenomenal growth of 46,000 listeners, increasing Real Radio’s market share to 17.5%.
 
The latest research demonstrates the loyalty of Real Radio’s audience who are listening on average for 12.4 hours a week, resulting in over 9.5 million weekly hours of listening.
 
The station’s breakfast show hosted by Robin and Cat saw an all time peak audience of 160,000 listeners tuning in, boosting the total weekly audience to the show to 486,000 adult listeners.  Robin’s Golden Hour has become ever more popular, and in one half hour sees an increase of 13,000 listeners.
 
Ewen and Roughy’s Football Phone-In has also gone from strength to strength, now attracting 302,000 adult listeners per week with a peak average half hour audience of 95,000.
 
Billy Anderson, Managing Director for GMG Radio Scotland said, “We are absolutely delighted with our performance and the year on year growth is particularly pleasing at this stage of our development.  It is clear to see we are doing the right things and our audience is growing, with our focus on output, marketing and, of course, our listeners”.
