GMG Radio Sales has retained its title of Radio Sales Team of the Year for the 3rd time at the annual Drum Awards which celebrates the stars of media sales.

 

The regional sales team for Guardian Media Group Radio’s portfolio of stations including the recently launched Smooth Radio network, beat off competition from Chrysalis and EMAP to win the coveted award.

 

The retention of the title is all the more impressive as the team  - which represents the group’s 11 stations with agencies outside London, has set up new sales offices in Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds and Birmingham.

 

The team, led by Head of Agency Sales Helen Walledge, has grown by 50% in recent months and is now 14 strong. On winning the award Helen said: "To win the title of Radio Sales Team of the Year for the 3^rd time is a fantastic achievement and a credit to the GMG Radio Sales team and their commitment to understanding the needs of agencies and their clients. I would also like to thank our agencies for their support over the past years”.
