Prestigious Prince's Trust Award for Real Radio Wales

Real Radio Wales has been presented with a special award by The Prince’s Trust Cymru for its contribution to the charity over the last year.
At a gala dinner for 400 guests at Cardiff’s City Hall to honour young people from across Wales who have managed to get their lives working, the station was recognised for its support with the Significant Contribution To The Work Of The Trust award sponsored by Julian Hodge Bank.
Real Radio’s support for the Prince’s Trust over the year includes the donation of more than £70,000 worth of airtime to The Trust , which in turn has enabled it to raise over £200,000 through fundraiser campaigns.
On presenting the award, Matthew Rhys, said: “The Trust is dependent on so many forms of support that the judges looked at a diverse range of supporters before deciding on a winner. Real Radio has acted as an enabler for us – helping raise our profile and funds – and the relationship looks set to continue into next year and beyond.”
Real Radio, which this month celebrated its 3rd birthday, has supported events such as Wales’ first ever Royal Film premier, Celebrity Shopping and Go Red for Wales.
The station’s Managing Director Andy Carter said: “We are thrilled to have been recognised with this award. Our station is glad to be able to help The Prince’s Trust Cymru with its work in Wales and the whole team will be delighted that our support has had such a terrific impact.”
